Year 6 into
Year 7

Transition & Enrolment from Year 6 to Year 7

The Department for Education manages high school allocations for students moving from Year 6 into Year 7 through the State-wide Transition Process. This process typically begins in Term 2 with the release of a Registration of Interest form from the Department for Education.

  • Students enrolled at South Australian government primary schools will receive information directly from their primary school.
  • Students not enrolled at South Australian government primary schools, can access the Registration of Interest form via the Department for Education website.

Places are determined by the Department for Education. Once allocations are finalised, we will contact families allocated to Glenunga International High School regarding the next steps, including confirmation of the residential address within the zone of the school. This usually takes place in August.

To check your school zone, please use the Department for Education’s online school zone finder tool.

For further information about the Year 6 into Year 7 transition process, please visit the Department for Education website or speak with your primary school. Additionally enquiries can be submitted via the Virtual Assistant located at the bottom of this page.
