Enrolment eligibility

Current Year 7 to 12 Students

Glenunga International High School operates under a Capacity Management Plan. This is a legal notice established by the Minister for Education to ensure the number of enrolments at our school remains at a safe level. Please read the following information carefully.

Do you live in the zone?

No, I don’t.

We are unable to accept applications from families living outside of the zone. This includes families who:

  • have students enrolled at Glenunga and move out of the zone – there are no ‘sibling rights’.
  • currently live interstate or overseas and are planning to move into the zone.
  • own a rental property in the zone but live elsewhere.
  • have relatives who live in the zone. A student’s primary carer(s) must live in the zone, not the relatives.

Next step: You need to approach another local school for enrolment. You can use this tool to help you.

Limited places are available for Year 10 students out of zone wishing to apply for entry into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in Year 11. Please see International Baccalaureate page for more details.

Yes, I do.

Under the Capacity Management Plan, living or moving into the zone does not provide automatic entry or a guaranteed place.

  • We cannot fast-track, guarantee places, or make exceptions based on:
    • a family’s personal extenuating circumstances.
    • your connections to the school (eg ex-scholar, staff).
    • your plans to purchase or rent property in the zone in the future.
    • you removing your student from another school before securing a place at Glenunga.
  • You are strongly encouraged to keep your student enrolled at their current school or enquire at neighbouring schools.
  • If you are eligible for a place and one is not available, you can be added to a waitlist.
  • We cannot provide enrolment guarantees if you are considering moving into the zone.

Next step: Check you meet the in-zone requirements.

Registration of Interest Process

(For Current High School Students only)

  1. Submit: Complete our online Registration of Interest form. Please note that submission of this form is an enquiry only and does not provide assurance of enrolment to the school.
  2. Review: Applications will be reviewed only once all required documents have been uploaded. We appreciate your patience during this process.  Please note that phone or email enquiries regarding application status divert resources from the review process.
  3. Response: We will contact you with the outcome of your enquiry.  This may include placement on a waitlist.  If placed on the waitlist, families will only be contacted again if a position becomes available.
