International Programs

Glenunga International High School welcomes students from all over the world. Our International Student Program, offered to students with a Subclass 500 Visa, is highly regarded both locally and globally.

Diversity in the curriculum, community and culture

Our International Students are valued members of our school community, offering diversity in the curriculum, community and culture of the school. They are supported by members of the Executive Leadership Team, the International Student Program Manager, Wellbeing Leaders, Sub School Leaders, Mentor Teachers and our teaching staff.

A tailored orientation program supports our International Students to build strong relationships with their peers and homestay families and to ensure positive engagement and a successful start to their Australian school experience.

International Programs offered

Glenunga offers two fee paying International Programs to students with a Subclass 500 Visa: the Intensive Secondary English Course (ISEC) and the High School Graduate Program.

Intensive Secondary English Course (ISEC)

The ISEC is designed to assist students who need to develop their English language proficiency. The program provides knowledge of the Australian environment and lifestyle and introductory courses to familiarise International Students with schooling in Australia. Students complete one semester of ISEC before entering the High School Graduate Program in Year 10.

High School Graduate Program

The High School Graduate Program provides students with the opportunity to pursue their individual academic interests and ambitions, gain a world class education and aim to graduate with a South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or International Baccalaureate Diploma.

International Students can begin the High School Graduate Program after completing the Intensive Secondary English Course (ISEC) and can select from a range of subject choices found in our Curriculum Guide.

Homestay Accommodation

International Students live in homestay accommodation arranged by South Australian Government Schools – International Education Services (IES). Homestays are individually selected and accredited to ensure student safety and wellbeing, and that every family member in the homestay is over 18 years of age undergoes a Working With Children Check.

International Student Enrolment Process

Prospective students can apply through the South Australian Government Schools International Education Services (IES) website.
