Registrations for Year 7 in 2024

Registrations for entry into the Year 7 2024 IGNITE program are now closed.

Registration for Year 7 2025 candidates will open in early November 2023.

Entry into the IGNITE Program at Year 7

The ACER IGNITE assessment is held in late February every year for Year 6 students entering Year 7 the following year.

The assessment comprises four parts, completed over a period of 3 to 5 hours with time allowed for a break.

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Written Expression
  • Mathematical Reasoning
  • Abstract Reasoning

Students are only permitted to sit the ACER assessment once.

If families want their student to sit the assessment in Year 5, they must have a signed recommendation from their primary school principal.

For rural and interstate families, we prefer the student attends the assessment at Glenunga, however arrangements may be made to sit the assessment at the student’s current primary school, provided the school principal approves the request and is willing to provide supervision.

Selection

Selection is based on the student’s ACER results. Under our Capacity Management Plan, we select 100 students per yearly intake.

For any enquiries, please email the IGNITE team at dl.0927.ignite@schools.sa.edu.au.
