‘Gaming Disorder’ is an illness

The World Health Organisation has classified ‘Gaming Disorder’ as an illness in the International Classification of Disease 11th edition, and the Wellbeing Team is hearing from staff, students, and parents that gaming and technology use is becoming an issue for adolescents in their lives. To find out more about the classification visit the Time Magazine article at https://time.com/5597258/gaming-disorder-icd-11-who/

The GIHS Wellbeing Team is hosting the Unplugged workshop on the 22nd of October that will help parents learn how to identify problematic gaming and develop practical strategies to support healthier gaming and internet use. Bookings are required and can be made at https://www.trybooking.com/560793
