Glenunga International High School Health and Physical Education Learning Area strives to provide an environment which is positive and supportive of student learning and wellbeing. The HPE Faculty constantly reviews and adapts teaching practice and programs. To facilitate positive outcomes for students, we use the latest information to make meaningful and relevant improvements to our educational methods and curriculum. We aim to develop students who display an understanding of their own well-being through a balance of physical and health related topics, as well as showing care and empathy for the health and wellbeing of others.

We endeavour to extend and challenge students with tasks which require collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. The Health and Physical Education Faculty utilize student feedback, peer mentoring, personal and group reflection to enrich the opportunities for learning. We aim to empower students to maximise their opportunities to succeed while enhancing their personal growth. HPE Staff are mindful of students accessing pathways to a wide range of vocational and career options which have natural connections with this subject area.

Students that succeed in Health and Physical have lifelong skills and knowledge. This enables GIHS students to be healthy, active and confident adults with the ability to communicate, problem solve and manage issues in the 21stCentury.
