01 May ARA YOUTH AMBASSADOR LEADERSHIP CAMP
Three students attended the Australian Refugee Association (ARA) Youth Ambassador Camp over three wonderful days during Week 10 of Term 1. The camp gave us the opportunity to hear from guest speakers, learn about refugees and meet like-minded advocates. We enjoyed team building activities at the Challenge Hill obstacle course and creative workshops including dancing, singing, drumming and art. It was an unforgettable experience that opened our mind to other people’s cultural background, ideas and perspectives. We had the exciting opportunity to share these experiences with people from many different cultures and make new friendships that will last a lifetime. The camp is a significant first step into the Youth Ambassador program, which will help us raise funds and awareness for ARA’s cause supporting people from refugee backgrounds since 1975. Overall it was a fun, educational and meaningful experience that will be etched in our memories forever.
